List of crafts and crafts-like trades that are exempt from registration - arrange for registration
You would like to register an unlicensed craft or a craft-like trade? If so, the competent Chamber of Skilled Crafts will enter you in the "Register of Owners of a Business of a Trade Exempt from Registration or a Trade Similar to a Trade".

Prerequisite
You do not need any proof of qualification.
This is different from a craft that is subject to registration in the register of crafts.
Procedure
You must register an unlicensed trade or a trade similar to a trade with the competent authority.
Depending on what the Chambers of Crafts offer, the application form is available for download or can be filled out directly via a form centre. You can also submit your documents in person and fill out the application on site.
Deadlines
Notification of the trade activity: immediately after commencement
Required documents
- completed application form
- Copy of identity card or comparable identification document
- For proof of the entrepreneurial legal form:
- if the company has its registered office in Germany:
- for companies entered in a register Excerpt from the commercial register or the partnership register, respectively
- otherwise a copy of the partnership agreement (e.g. in the case of a partnership under civil law (GbR))
- if the company is based abroad: documents from the country of domicile proving the legal form.
- if the company has its registered office in Germany:
In the case of legal entities (GmbH, Unternehmensgesellschaften, AG, registered cooperatives), you only need to complete the application form for the legal entity itself. You must submit all personal documents for all natural persons authorised to manage the company (e.g. personal papers).
