Real estate cadastre - apply for an extract

The real estate cadastre is the basic official register in which all parcels of land and buildings throughout Baden-Württemberg are reliably recorded. The register precisely defines the boundaries of the parcels of land and their areas, shows the extent of the buildings, their official address and provides information on the use of land throughout the state.

The property register is the basis for the proof of ownership in the land register. It serves to secure land ownership, property transactions and taxation.

The real estate cadastre is maintained by the lower surveying authorities in the rural and urban districts and specially authorised cities.

An extract from the land register provides you with an official overview of the location, size and use of your parcel of land - including a map.

What is this needed for?
An extract from the property register is often required if, for example, you want to buy or sell a parcel of land, submit a building application or apply to the bank for financing.

What is included in an extract? Depending on your requirements, you will receive

• a property map (graphic representation of your parcel of land) and/or
• a property description (tabular information on the parcel, location, size and use, ownership details if applicable).
