Landesapothekerkammer - Register membership
As a pharmacist in Baden-Württemberg, you must be a member of the Baden-Württemberg Chamber of Pharmacists.
The main tasks of the chamber include
- To represent the professional interests of its members,
- to promote their further education and training and
- to monitor the fulfilment of professional duties.

Prerequisite
You must
- be authorised (appointed) or licensed as a pharmacist or
- have a licence to practise the profession of pharmacist and
- Practise your profession in Baden-Württemberg or
- if you do not practise your profession, have your place of residence in Baden-Württemberg.
If you are authorised to practise the profession in accordance with Section 11 of the Federal Pharmacists' Code, you are a member of the Chamber for the duration of your professional licence valid in Baden-Württemberg.
Procedure
You can register on the website of the Landesapothekerkammer. You must then send the required documents to the Landesapothekerkammer by post.
Alternatively, you can also register in writing. You can request the registration form for this from the Landesapothekerkammer.
Deadlines
- Registration: within one month of meeting the requirements
- Submission of the required documents after registration: within two weeks
Required documents
You must enclose the following documents with your application or submit them later when registering electronically:
- Licence to practise/professional permit
- if the licence to practise/professional permit is issued in your maiden name or former name: marriage certificate/change of name certificate
- Doctorate certificate
- Proof of further training
You must submit the licence to practise/professional permit certificate as an officially certified copy that is not older than three months, all other documents as a simple copy.
Costs

- for membership: basic annual fee of varying amounts
The basis for calculating the fee can be both the professional income and the scope of the professional activity. Further information can be obtained from the chamber.
In addition to the basic contribution, the following persons must pay a further contribution:
- Operating licence holders,
- Leaseholders and
- Managers and administrators
of public pharmacies and associated branches. This is based on the turnover achieved in the previous calendar year excluding VAT.
Processing time
Approximately 14 days if all documents are complete.
Miscellaneous
If you relocate your professional activity abroad, you can remain a voluntary member. This also applies if you only move your place of residence abroad without being professionally active. If you are undergoing practical training in Baden-Württemberg in accordance with the licensing regulations for pharmacists (pharmacists in practical training), you can become a voluntary member during your training.
